What the analysis flags instead is the same chokepoint geometry that trapped drivers on Pacific Coast Highway during both Woolsey and Palisades: the route graph found a single-point-of-failure segment of roughly **11 metres** that multiple evacuation paths depend on. East of the canyon, the Palisades scar is barely eighteen months old as of this report; fuels there genuinely are cleared, for now.\n\nNeither status has moved the one thing that matters most over the long run:\n\n-   **The hazard classification.** CAL FIRE's Fire Hazard Severity Zone model, which scores long-term hazard from climate, terrain, and fire behavior rather than this season's fuel load, reads **Very High** across Las Flores Canyon — 90/100 in Satelife's community-area hazard layer, and 90/100 again at the Rambla Pacifico Street parcel.\n-   **The fire-history signal.** Satelife's fire-history layer scores 95/100 at both the community and property level — 17 mapped perimeters reaching the area in the last 20 years, the most of any Satelife county page published so far.\n-   **The terrain and wind exposure.** The canyon geometry and the sundowner-wind corridor are permanent; they do not reset when the chaparral does.\n\nChaparral is a fast fuel — a canyon that burned in 2018 can be flammable again well within a decade, and one that burned in 2025 will be flammable again well before this decade is out.
