"content": "Report · Wildfire Prepared\n\n# Wildfire Prepared Home _readiness_\n\nA new Satelife report built on the IBHS Wildfire Prepared Home™ standard. You answer a short, photo-backed evidence questionnaire about your roof, vents, defensible space and more — and get a verification-ready readiness score across the Essential and Enhanced pathways. It is a pre-check toward an IBHS designation, not the designation itself, and it never changes your wildfire-risk score.\n\n![Satelife Wildfire Prepared Readiness report cover showing a readiness score of 74 out of 100, with Essential pathway 87% and Enhanced pathway 50%, marked self-reported and verification-ready.](/images/wildfire-prepared-home/whp-cover.png)\n\n## A readiness pre-check, _not another risk score_\n\nThe wildfire-risk report tells you how exposed a property is. The Wildfire Prepared report answers a different question: how close is this home to meeting a recognised hardening standard — and what is left to do? It is evidence-led, owner-reported, and deliberately score-neutral.\n\n01\n\n### Mapped to the IBHS standard\n\nEvery question maps to a requirement in the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) Wildfire Prepared Home™ technical standard — split into the Essential and Enhanced pathways.\n\n02\n\n### Owner-reported, photo-backed\n\nYou self-attest each requirement and can attach a photo or document. Evidence is judged leniently and trust-first — it assembles a verification-ready pack, never a forensic audit.\n\n03\n\n### Score-neutral by design\n\nThe readiness roll-up is its own headline. It is never folded into the wildfire-risk score, so the two reports stay independent and comparable.\n\n## The questions you _answer_\n\nEleven short questions, each tied to a Wildfire Prepared requirement. Answer from your own knowledge of the home and, where you can, attach a photo or document. Skipping any item is always fine. The selections below are the answers behind the sample report further down.\n\n● Essential pathway — ember & defensible-space basics\n\nIs the roof a Class A ignition-resistant covering (asphalt composition, metal, tile, or slate)?\n\nYes — Class ANo / unknown\n\nAdd a photo or document — optional\n\nAre attic and crawlspace vents ember-resistant (1/8-inch mesh or smaller, or tested to ASTM E2886)?\n\nYes — ember-resistant throughoutPartial — some retrofittedNo — standard vents\n\nAdd a photo or document — optional\n\nWhat is the typical state of the roof surface and valleys?\n\nGenerally cleanSome accumulation between cleaningsHeavy needle / leaf build-up\n\nAdd a photo or document — optional\n\nHow often are gutters cleaned of debris (and are they noncombustible)?\n\nTwice a year or moreOnce a yearNever / rarely\n\nAdd a photo or document — optional\n\nIs the 0–5 ft zone around the house and deck clear of combustibles — no wood mulch, plants, or stored items?\n\nYes — fully clear / hardscapePartiallyNo / unknown\n\nAdd a photo or document — optional\n\nHow often is vegetation cleared in the 5–30 ft defensible space?\n\nProactively — several times a seasonSeasonally — before & during fire seasonOnce a yearNever / rarely\n\nAdd a photo or document — optional\n\nWhere is firewood (or a similar combustible store) kept?\n\nNo firewood storedBeyond 30 ftWithin 30 ft of the houseAgainst the house / under deck\n\nAdd a photo or document — optional\n\nAre combustibles (bins, furniture, firewood) stored beneath the deck or porch?\n\nNo — clear underneathOccasionallyYes — items kept under the deck\n\nAdd a photo or document — optional\n\n● Enhanced pathway — building materials\n\nWhat is the primary exterior siding material?\n\nBrick / masonryFiber cementStucco / cement plasterVinylWood\n\nAdd a photo or document — optional\n\nWhat are the primary windows?\n\nDual-pane temperedDual-paneSingle-pane\n\nAdd a photo or document — optional\n\nWhat is the deck material (or no deck)?\n\nComposite / metal / no deckPressure-treated woodUntreated wood\n\nAdd a photo or document — optional\n\n## The result: an _Essential / Enhanced_ readiness pack\n\nAnswers roll up into one readiness score and two pathway percentages, then a per-requirement table that shows exactly what is Confirmed, Unclear, or Not shown — and a closing synthesis of what remains. Below is a real report for a sample Idyllwild, CA home.\n\n![WHP readiness detail page: overall readiness 74 of 100, Essential 88% (6 of 8 confirmed, evidence pending), Enhanced 50% (1 of 3 confirmed, gap), and a per-requirement table marking each item Confirmed, Unclear, or Not shown.](/images/wildfire-prepared-home/whp-result.png)\n\nThe readiness detail page — overall score, the Essential and Enhanced progress bars, and a per-requirement status table with notes.\n\n![Resolution page summarising overall readiness of 74 out of 100 (Developing) and listing what remains toward a Wildfire Prepared designation across Essential and Enhanced requirements.](/images/wildfire-prepared-home/whp-resolution.png)\n\nThe closing synthesis — a plain-language read of how much remains to reach a Wildfire Prepared designation, item by item.\n\nHonest by design: the output ceiling is **“verification-ready, pending IBHS field confirmation.”** A Satelife readiness report is a self-reported pre-check — it is not an IBHS designation, which still requires an IBHS field evaluation.\n\n## See how _prepared_ your home is\n\nAdd the Wildfire Prepared readiness pre-check to a wildfire-risk report and get your Essential and Enhanced pathway scores — with a verification-ready evidence pack you can act on before fire season.\n\n[Start with your address →](https://app.satelife.ai/)\n\n[![PRR](/images/prr.png)](/ficha-de-website-voucher-satelife.pdf)\n\n© 2024–2026 Satelife, Lda.
