Here's what changed in each release — newest first. 1. beta.9 Jul 23 – 31, 2026 ## Sharper fuel and structure-spacing modeling - New Neighborhood reports now factor how tightly homes are spaced, not just how many there are — clusters of structures within a few meters of one another are flagged for home-to-home fire spread, the pattern behind most structure loss in wildland-urban fires. This now works everywhere in the continental U.S., not only California. - Improved Vegetation and fuel scoring now reads canopy height and density, not just vegetation type — a tall, closed forest canopy and low scrub of the same species are no longer scored the same, drawing on free national LANDFIRE canopy data. - Improved The fire-spread visualization now treats gaps in the tree canopy — clearings, thinned stands, old burn scars — as fuel breaks that slow and deflect the modeled fire front, alongside roads and other barriers. - Improved Reports now show the vintage of the LANDFIRE vegetation data behind each fuel map, so you can see how current it is. 2. beta.8 Jul 18 – 31, 2026 ## Smarter neighborhood hazard mapping - New Neighborhood reports now read wildfire hazard zone-by-zone from the USFS Wildfire Risk to Communities 30-meter national dataset — hotspots reflect where burn probability and fire intensity actually concentrate, not just where buildings cluster. - New Expected annual structure exposures — a single headline number for how many structures in your community could be exposed to wildfire in an average year, computed with the USFS method and cited to its methodology. - Improved The neighborhood report’s methodology section now explains exactly how USFS data shapes each zone’s score — a long-term average over thousands of simulated fire seasons, never a prediction for a specific year. - Fixed Building density is no longer overstated for large community boundaries, so hotspots in bigger towns rank correctly. - Fixed A partial USFS data outage no longer silently understates a property’s hazard score. 3. beta.7 Jul 8 – 17, 2026 ## Evacuation planning - New Create a wildfire evacuation plan — draw evacuation zones, egress routes, contraflow segments, traffic control points, refuge and assembly points, decision points and at-risk assets directly on a satellite map. - New A live methodology checklist scores every plan against U.S. Fire Administration national evacuation-planning guidance — flagging things like at-risk assets with no assigned route, zones whose exits aren’t independent, and pinch points with no traffic control, as pass / warn / fail findings. - New Export a versioned draft evacuation plan as a PDF — overview, situation map, element inventory and full checklist — clearly stamped “draft, for AHJ review.” It’s a planning aid, never an evacuation order. - Improved Find the new tool from the site header under Tools, and from the Wildfire Risk hub. 4. beta.6 Jun 30 – Jul 7, 2026 ## Neighborhood reports & evacuation routes - New A Neighborhood/Village Wildfire Risk report — score an entire community in a fine-grained grid, spot its highest-risk hotspots, and get a prioritized, costed mitigation action plan. Available for California and Portugal. - New Set your neighborhood boundary your way — look it up by place name, set a radius around a point, or draw it by hand on an interactive map. - New Community Access & Evacuation analysis — see fire-truck drive time to your highest-risk hotspots, how many ways there are out of your community, and where evacuation routes could bottleneck. - Improved Reports now show the exact date and source of the satellite imagery behind each map, so you know how current the view is. - Improved More accurate region detection for U.S. addresses outside California. - Fixed Smoother map drawing and boundary editing — no more stray clicks before the map is ready or jumpy markers while dragging. 5. beta.5 Jun 26 – 29, 2026 ## Wildfire Prepared Home reports - New A dedicated Wildfire Prepared Home readiness report — see how ready your property is across the Essential and Enhanced pathways, with an overall 0–100 readiness score, a visual gauge, and a checklist of what’s covered. - New Choose what you want right from the homepage — pick one report or several and launch them together; each report tile unlocks as your address qualifies. - New Community fire-preparedness — an optional layer that factors your wider community’s wildfire readiness into the risk score. - Improved Cleaner report pages — the on-screen readiness gauge now matches the PDF donut exactly. - Fixed Report pages no longer flash a date mismatch on load, a slow road-access lookup can no longer stall an entire run, and you can re-run a report that previously failed. 6. beta.4 Jun 12 – 25, 2026 ## Redesigned reports & email alerts - New Email notifications — you get an email the moment your report is ready, and whenever a report pauses waiting for your input. - New A new About page with our story, our Azores office on the map, and a contact form. - Improved A completely redesigned report: a dedicated section for every scoring layer, vegetation maps, map overlays, and an AI-written narrative for each block. - Improved Smoother onboarding — your address now carries through sign-up and your first report launches automatically. - Fixed Hazard-zone gaps are backfilled from USFS data, so far fewer parcels come back as “no mapped zone”. 7. beta.3 May 29 – Jun 11, 2026 ## Fire-weather scoring & automation - Improved Fire-weather scoring refinements (Scoring v2) and production hardening for faster, steadier reports. 8. beta.2 May 15 – 28, 2026 ## Paid reports & human-in-the-loop - New Paid reports, powered by Stripe — secure checkout with no card details ever touching our servers. - New Optional questionnaire and photo upload — add property details to sharpen your risk score. - New A mobile menu across the whole site. - New The Satelife blog launched, with its first articles and SEO improvements. - Improved Scoring v2 — a more accurate, more explainable risk breakdown. 9. beta.1 May 1 – 14, 2026 ## Satelife launches - New First public release — turn any address into a traceable, parcel-level wildfire-risk report. - New An interactive fire-spread simulator. - New Six interactive data-layer cards and a workflow page explaining how a report is built. - New The public Satelife website went live. - Improved Images served as WebP — much lighter, faster-loading pages.
